Movement speed
The Templar's base movement speed is determined by the class of armor that she is wearing.
- Light: 15
- Medium: 10
- Heavy: 5
By timing how long it takes to run a standard distance with a variety of speed values, we can roughly see how this affects movement. Taking as a baseline the time that it takes to run the full length of the platform that you spawn on in the Filthblood Shelter, we find these values:
- Speed 25: ~11seconds
- Speed 20: ~11.2seconds
- Speed 15: ~11.9seconds
- Speed 10: ~13seconds
- Speed 5: ~14.2seconds
We have also experimentally shown that having a 0 speed does not prevent movement. More testing/analysis is needed to more firmly narrow this down, but one algorithm that fits the data would be that speed is applied as a percentage increase over the baseline speed. Thus a speed of 5 is 5% faster than the baseline and a 25% speed is 25% faster. It is unknown at this time if it is possible to have a negative speed.
Dodge
The Templar has the ability to roll for a quick burst of speed and to avoid damage. She is invulnerable to attacks and can pass through enemies for the entire duration of the roll animation. Executing a roll takes stamina as indicated by the line on the stamina bar. This happens to also be the same amount of stamina to attack with most weapons (though some cost more). The speed, distance, and stamina used are unaffected by the armor that the Templar is wearing or her movement speed. This means that dodge rolling is a decent way to move more quickly when wearing heavy armor.
Quick dodge
Some two handed weapons execute a quick dodge when the block button is pressed while wielding them Bows and Spears do a quick backward step while draggers do a quick forward roll. Unlike a regular dodge, these are always based on the direction you are facing. This dodge takes hald as much stamina as a normal dodge.
Slam
Press attack while falling to drop more rapidly and produce a shockwave on impact.
