The First One - Fallen Bulwark is a boss in Dark Devotion. He is the main boss of The Purged Hamlet. He is one of the central bosses of the game, in both the lore and promotional material.
Description[]
The Fallen Bulwark seems to be a human Templar wielding a greatsword and greatshield. He wears the Templar armour and waits for the player in the depths of the Hamlet. With two sections of health remaining, his shield shatters and his sword bursts into flame. On death, he drops the Massive Sword.
Lore[]
We know very little about The Fallen Bulwark. However, from the name, he may potentially be the first Templar to explore the Temple. From the trophy we get from defeating him, we know for sure that he is a Templar, and that "we have sinned by killing [him]." We do not know how or why he has the ability to manipulate flames with his sword, or why he is simply standing in the darkness, waiting for us.
